Finally, Janet and me are getting into the taste of the birthday present I made her. It was an exhausting but really cool trip!
Harrods Shopping Center
The London Eye - The 140m (approx. 420 ft) high observation wheel, built by British Airways on the water side of the river Thames.
Some Photo arts...
View from inside the cabin of the observation wheel.
Tower Bridge with red 2 story open air bus :-) (photo taken from a sightseeing ship)
Another obligatory picture of London ;-)

Archos Gmini 400
11.08.04 (4:45 am) [edit]
Let meeeeeee entertain you....
Yeah, Robbie's song perfectly fits for the latest generation of personal entertainment player, the Archos Gmini 400. In fact it's not just an mp3 player, its plays just about everything a multimedia freak needs like
- mp3 - MPeg-4 Video clips (with DivX 4.x and 5.x support) - JPeg-Viewing - Image Tank function with CF-Card reader (and optional adapter for other Flash card types) - USB2 harddisk - game pad
So, this thing has plenty of features and every feature is sharing the 20 GIG harddisk which is build inside the Gmini 400.
Archos Gmini 400 Showcase:
If you like to see the english version, Check this out!
Soon, its time to get one of these and sell my crappy Creative Zen NX.

Car Crash...
09.16.04 (4:22 am) [edit]
Well great,
just arrived back from Crete and the sun, we landed back in cold and ugly Germany. And since this is not enough, we had quite a bunch of rain the next couple of weeks... During one day the rain was really heavy and when getting home I unfortunately was getting into aquaplaning on the Autobahn exit in Opladen...
Here you can see the result:
Comment: Damn, I hate it when this happens
Hopefully I will get back my repaired car by this weekend....

Back from Crete...
09.16.04 (3:20 am) [edit]
Hey folks, long time no blog entry... ...so now its time to fresh up the blog with news a little bit.
Well Janet and myself returned from Rethymnon about a month ago now (is it passed that long already...?) and since that time a whole lot of things had happened...
But first, here are some impressions of Crete, hope y'all like the pics!
Picture of Rethymnon with the harbor in the front. The picture was taken from the "Rethymno Fortessa"
A scene from a Cretan restaurant in Matala, South Crete
The "sideroportes" is the narrowest part of the Samaria-Canyon, which is the largest Canyon in Europe. The Canyon is 18 KMs long and has a total elevation of 1250 meters.
Netti and me sittin' totally exhausted in a Cretan restaurant.
After all, this was an awesome vacation with a beautiful hotel.

Grossfischbach 550 Years Party...
07.08.04 (6:00 am) [edit]
Grossfischbach - Let the party begin...
This upcoming weekend the village "Grossfischbach" will be celebrating its 550 year anniversary! For this special event the town community "Grossfischbach" started working on a big party this upcoming Saturday night (10th of July, 2004) By just imaginating that 550 years ago nobody even was talking about the USA here in Germany...yeah, I would say: its quite an age for a town!!!
Well anyway...for this occasion there will be a tent with hot meals and - of course - a lot of beer also available.
Location: Grossfischbach is located about 50 km east of Cologne in NRW near Gummersbach.
Here is a view on beautiful Grossfischbach...

Markus Pieper, a balloon driver from Wiehl, Germany made it all the way to the World Champion while competing with the rest of the world's best drivers in Australia.
Yesterday he made it back to Germany and got to sign the Golden Book of the city of Wiehl.

07.07.04 (4:05 am) [edit]
We came, saw, and drank beer...
The "Wiehler Stadtfest 2004", the annual city festival of the city of Wiehl came with a whole bunch o' rain as usual....but after all Saturday evening's nice weather combined with a couple of beer (for some people even too much beer...am I right, Netti and Fine ???) compensated the rain :)

Herbert Grönemeyer Open Air in Koblenz...
06.23.04 (2:26 am) [edit]
Bochum ich komm' aus dir.... Bochum ich häng' an dir....
Herby is back for just 4 Open-Airs all over Germany...The Open Air we visited was just great. It took place at the "Kurfüstliches Schloss" in downtown Koblenz. For warmup the rock band "Stiller's Sportfreunde" was playing a couple of songs which were...hmm...lets say rather bad :?
Then, at around 21 h Grönemeyer & his band jumped on the stage and the show began....3 hours of really awesome performance with absolutely great & warm summer weather...
Here is a pic of Herby performing on the stage...

If you like to read more about Herbert Grönemeyer just move on to the Offical Herbert Grönemeyer WebSite or the SWR Info Pages.

Codename: Panzers - out in German stores today...
06.16.04 (7:04 am) [edit]
YEAH !!! :P
Finally "Codename: Panzers - Phase One" is out !!!
I got it on monday already (preferred customer with direct order at CDV) but the official realease date was corrected by CDV on 16th of June instead of 18th of June. So the game should be in stores today.
Just tried it out for like 2 hours on monday night and I must admit: my first impression is totally beyond my expectations !!! Codename: Panzers is just a kicking ass piece of realtime strategy...and I am sure I haven't seen most of the great effects and really cool gameplay yet...
So my advice to everyone who likes strategy games:
GO AND GET IT !!!
Cheers, Brummer

iX Eclipse 3.0 Konferenz - Get plugged in
Just went to Heidelberg to the iX Eclipse Konferenz 2004 last monday.
The tutorial (Developing Rich Client Platform Applications) I attended was pretty cool and one could really get a good idea how to design a RCP-Client with Eclipse 3.0.
Just can't wait until this final comes out the end of June :D
More about my first RCP Application soon...

New Yamaha R1...
06.11.04 (6:27 am) [edit]
YAMAHA R1 - The legend comes back...
For those of you who are really in motorcylces already know what I am talking about:
Powerful bike with a good looking face and a beautiful ass!
Here is a picture collage for those of you who haven't seen this bike yet...

Cool faclelifting....
Nice ass, huh ?
When I took a first look at this awesome piece of motorcycle lately at my local dealer, when the premiere celebration took place, I almost wanted to give back my FZ-1.
But to be honest: The R1 was always and always will be an absolute supersport bike either for kicking out the last mph (must go around 200-210 mph as far as I know) on the German Autobahn or for the "race track"...ahem I mean for long and wide curves on the country roads...
For longer trips (400 km per day and more) like going to the Alps from Cologne and back within one weekend must be a pain in the ass with this bike...
For those of you who like to read more detailed stuff about this bike, just go to the Official German Yamaha R1 WebSite...
or to the
Official US Yamaha R1 WebSite...
One thing is for sure: I will definately jump on a test ride this summer

Codename: PANZERS - Phase One
05.12.04 (6:39 am) [edit]
PANZERS....
yeah, I can't wait until its coming out!
It's another realtime strategy game published by CDV and developed by Storm Region...and on the first view it looks quite awesome! I played around with it the last couple of days and it turns out to be great....much better graphics than in Sudden Strike and the gameplay is really great, too...the special effects and graphics which are rendered with a real 3D-Engine bring up some totally astonishing effects...the best explosions I have seen so far in a RTS game! WOW!!! After all I think the AI is not all that good yet, sometimes the units are not really knowing where the shortest ways are...
But finally I think this will be the new KING OF ALL REALTIME STRATEGY GAMES when its coming out on June, 18th in Germany.
Panzers Cover-Art:

Some cool Screenshots, go and check them out!
So take a look out for it.
